The arts let us express ourselves and help us to understand our world. As young kids, art helps us with our development and as we grow older, nothing can unlock a beautiful memory like a piece of music you haven’t heard for a while or a photo or painting of a place you’ve been missing.
Arts
At Southern, we encourage artists to be bold and experimental.
It has been scientifically proven time and time again, that the arts and the appreciation of art improves our quality of life.
Expressive Arts
We count ourselves lucky to have worked with some very talented musicians, artists, dancers, poets, photographers and actors through several exciting projects of late. Have a look at some of the work we’ve been getting up to here;
EVA International
EVA leads in the commissioning and curating of contemporary art by Irish and international artists, culminating in a programme of artistic encounters, exhibitions, and education projects every two years in Limerick city and beyond.
Musicians on Call
Residents and staff of community hospitals across the Mid West enjoyed a series of live musical engagements as part of a pilot project, led by Limerick City and County Council and supported by Creative Ireland.
