Brief
In 2015, Limerick was announced as a candidate city for the 2020 European Capital of Culture. In 2016, Southern was selected, along with LSAD graduate Ciara Cantwell of Associate, to produce Limerick’s formal bid application book. The challenge was to capture the breadth, ambition and imagination contained in Limerick’s proposal.
Working into Ciara’s sterling book design, Southern conceptualised with theatre producer Ciarda Tobin and photographer Shane Serrano to produce the themed imagery for the projects that would make up Limerick’s year, as well as the stunning main image.
Though Galway was ultimately the successful Candidate City, we were incredibly proud of the Bid, the contribution and collaborative spirit of everyone involved, and the legacy it leaves for Limerick.
