How do you give recognition to the good work your people do every day? You start with these same people. Values in Action, a pilot initiative run in the Mid West by the HSE in partnership with UL Hospitals Group, sought to have staff take a moment to take stock …of the incredible work they do in providing healthcare. From big acts of compassion to the smallest gestures, there are so many ways people can make a difference to the people in their care – and their fellow healthcare workers. Values in Action, in identifying and celebrating these things, served to greatly improve morale, camaraderie and the sense of purpose of staff. It also reinforced the very things that made a difference. Southern was delighted to help capture the staff stories, producing a series of films that the HSE are using to spread the word nationally.
