As part of the Adare Destination Plan, Southern were tasked to brand the village of Adare, through its flagship Heritage Centre.
One of Ireland’s premier tourist villages, it nevertheless needed to entice people to stay longer.
Adare Heritage Trust Ltd., in association with Limerick County Council, commissioned URS Ireland Ltd. to seek the views of the local community and the wider public on how visitor services could be improved based on their experiences of Adare as a visitor destination.
Taking the results of this consultation, and working with the steering committee, we proposed renaming Adare Heritage Centre to simply Adare Heritage, to fully draw attention to a key aspect of its makeup and increase its scope beyond the heritage centre itself, allowing for the brand to grow. The identity we created drew its character from four celebrated local churches and abbeys. We also devised the slogan ‘Living History’ to truly position the village as a national centre of heritage.
The Adare Village brand was subsequently launched, in 2014, by then Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, now Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar.
